Cowl

How the heck do you describe a cowl? ...it's like a turtleneck but more like a scarf...Anyway, I got some super cute yarn and found a doable pattern for my basic knitting skills. I can't wait to show you when I am done, which hopefully is tomorrow because I want to wear it! Brrr!

cowl  /kaʊl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [koul] –noun
1. a hooded garment worn by monks.
2. the hood of this garment.
3. part of a garment that is draped to resemble a cowl or hood.

My first post and a new project!

I have this awesome apron I got from having a Matilda Jane trunk show. It is so pretty... I never wear it. Yesterday we were set to bake cookies and Grace (our only, she's 5) realized she did not have an apron like the one I was determined to wear. So off we went to find a Gingerbread Man cookie cutter and to buy fabric at Stash. After some deliberation I picked out what I liked with Grace's approval, because by this time the apron idea was not so exciting to her. So once we got home I brought out the sewing machine I still have on loan from my mom and away I went. It took me seven hours to make and by all means it is not perfect, but I made it with my own little pattern in my head and with barely any knowledge on how to use the sewing machine. I think it turned out really cute!
